Hero Now Theatre is holding auditions for a unique production of Terra Nova, by Ted Tally, for a January 2016 run of 4 shows, with the possibility of more shows to be added. Performance dates: January 14, 15, 16, and 17, with possible additional performances the following weekend.
This play deals with the ill-fated Antarctic expedition of a British team led by Robert Falcon Scott early in the 20th century. Performances will be held in a tent set up outside on a soccer field in Saint Anthony Village. Performers must be willing to act in a decidedly cool environment. (The tent will be moderately heated.)
We are casting roles for 5 men, late twenties to early forties, and 1 woman, late twenties to early thirties. One role (the role of Robert Falcon Scott) has already been cast.
A stipend of $350 will be paid to each actor, with additional pay if extra performances are added.
Actors must be available for rehearsals on weekday nights beginning in early December. Some weekend rehearsals are possible.
Audition dates are as follows:
- Sunday, November 29, 2015, 5-8 p.m.
- Monday, November 30, 2015, 6-9 p.m.
- Callbacks are Tuesday, December 1, 2015, 6-9 p.m.

Auditioners are asked to prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic monologue and also read from sides. You must be available for a full hour, as the director will ask actors to read in groups.
To sign up, fill out the following form, and attach 1) a resume and 2) a headshot. You will receive sides to read at the audition when we get your submission.
